STEP3: Sentences to speak: –

  • Intro (paraphrase the question)

    • What ? The most crucial decision that I have taken in my life is shifting to Canada permanently.

    • When ? I made up my mind last year in November when business of my husband started incurring losses. Hence, this seemed to be the best choice for us.  At first, I was a bit reluctant, but then my husband and family convinced me by explaining the current financial situation as well as future risks and insecurity here in India.

  • Body Paragraph 1

    • Result ? The result of this decision is yet to be revealed, but, looking at the business scenario in India, I am pretty much sure that it is a good decision. For instance, our restaurant’s profit is going down by 20% every month, which is very steep downfall. Thus, this choice is quite a wiser one for our family’s future.

    •  Moreover, my sister in law is also residing there. According to her, it is the best place to live on earth. Much more facilities are offered there than in India, like free health services, Law and order. Keeping in mind all these benefits, I am convinced that our future there will be a happier one.

  • Body Paragraph 2

The significance of this choice lies in the fact that our own and our children’s future is completely dependent on this transition. For example, education and health services are quite advanced there, procuring a host of opportunities for their future.

  • Conclusion

    • To conclude / In conclusion / To recapitulate,

I believe that this choice is the best for us, owing to the fact that our lifestyle and our children’s future completely depends on it.

So, in this way you can effectively organize your cue card on the paper and your mind in the given one minute.

Why should we organize it like IELTS essay?

The major reason behind this strategy is the similarity in the band criteria of both these sections, like

  • Coherence – Improved when we use linkers to change paragraph to introduce a new point, just like your essay.

  • Lexical Resource – enriched Vocab to be used in both sections.

  • GRA – Sentence structures to be used appropriately like complex and compound sentences.
